Research within the H2K

The unit H2K is engaged in research on catchment hydrology and climate impacts on the water cycle. Climate variability and climate change are increasingly recognised to have significant implications on water resources. Issues are wide-ranging from flooding to droughts or from hydropower to drinking water supply. Understanding climate variability impacts on hydrology in a changing environment requires knowledge of hydrologic processes, controlling factors and thresholds. Therefore, we combine experimental methods (hydrometric and tracer-based approaches) with hydrological modelling at different scales.
