Potential of and challenges in large-sample hydrology

Hydrological models are valuable for planning water resources and predicting extreme situations such as high or low water levels. Thanks to large-sample data sets covering hundreds of catchments, hydrological models can be tested in different regions. This doctoral thesis tests the quality of such data sets and examines their application.
