On 16 April 2026, Hanna Hilbrandt participated in the lecture series “Sustainability Now! Feminist Pathways to Environmental Justice.” The session featured the work of Reema Nanavaty from the Self Employed Women’s Association (SEWA), highlighting how unionisation among women workers responds to climate threats. In a panel discussion with Vanessa Joanna Salamanca—Central Secretary for Equality at VPOD and Co-President of the Feminist Commission of the SGB—the conversation explored the intersections of women’s labor, housing poverty, and environmental justice. The exchange underscored the importance of feminist perspectives in addressing how environmental harm intersects with gender-based injustice.
