New Publication
We are pleased to share a new publication from ZuriACT, the predecessor of the ZuReach project: “ZuriACT: Zurich Accessible CiTy – Promoting inclusive urban mobility in Zurich through digitalization and participatory research” which has been published in the Journal of Urban Mobility.
Zurich Accessible CiTy (ZuriACT) addressed the lack of detailed sidewalk accessibility data by combining citizen science approaches with digital tools to map accessibility features in Zurich’s District 1. Through focus group discussions and participatory data collection involving people with mobility impairments and other mobility restrictions, the project generated and validated a comprehensive dataset on sidewalk accessibility. The findings highlighted the multidimensional nature of accessibility, providing valuable evidence to support more inclusive and equitable urban mobility planning.
