FinGeo Doctoral Dissertation Prize 2021 awarded to Manuel Wirth

Manuel Wirth has been awarded the 2021 Dissertation Prize by the Global Network on Financial Geography (FinGeo)
Economic Geography team member Manuel Wirth has won the 2021 Dissertation Prize issued by the Global Network on Financial Geography for his dissertation “Doing Good with Finance? Impact Investing and the Marketization of Youth Homelessness in the United Kingdom”. The dissertation studied the implementation of a novel funding instrument in the British social sector and its implications for charities, social workers and service recipients. Together with Ludovico Rella, the other honoree, Manuel is invited to give an Early Career Keynote speech at a FinGeo virtual seminar in 2022 as well as a talk during a set of Early Career Researcher activities linked to the Global Conference on Economic Geography in Dublin in June 2022.
The FinGeo Network has been awarding prizes since 2017 for excellent dissertations in the field of financial geography.
