The Responsible City at the conference Neue Kulturgeographie (NKG) 2025 Augsburg

From September 30th to October 2nd 2025, Nouri Abdelgadir, Ismene Ehrler and Hanna Hilbrandt presented project results at the annual conference “Neue Kulturgeographie” (NKG) in Augsburg. The NKG brings together researchers in the fields of cultural and social geography and related disciplines around critical and forward-looking research and theoretical debates.

In collaboration with researchers from the DFG Research Training Group "Gewohnter Wandel - Societal Transformation and Spatial Materialization of Housing" based at Goethe University Frankfurt and Bauhaus University in Weimar, the Responsible City team organised the session “Sozial-ökologische Wohnungsfragen – Krisen, Konflikte & Kontroversen”. Twelve presentations showcased the large range of theoretical, empirical-methodological, and practice-oriented contributions that focus on housing questions as a central terrain of socio-ecological transformation.
We thank the co-organisers and all participants of this triple session, which provided an amazing opportunity for exchange, learning, and networking among German-speaking housing scholars.
