Whitebox Geospatial Analysis Tools

What is Whitebox GAT

Whitebox GAT is an open-source GIS software package developed by John Lindsay. Many of the functionalities of the former Geasy software, developed by Jan Seibert, are now included in Whitebox GAT. A few examples of Geasy tools that can be found in Whitebox GAT are:

  • MDInfinity flow accumulation (Seibert and McGlynn, 2007).
  • MDInfinity side separated contributions to a stream (Grabs et al., 2010).
  • Medain Upstream Area (McGlynn et al., 2003).
  • Downslope Index (Hjerdt et al., 2004).

Whitebox GAT can be downloaded from the website of the University of Guelph, Centre for Hydrogeomatics: http://www.uoguelph.ca/~hydrogeo/Whitebox/
