VB Hydrological Field Measurements and Calculations

- GEO 471.1 Hydrological field measurements and calculations

- The following field activities are part of the course: A two-day snow field course in Wägital (March), a field day in Alpthal (May) for runoff measurements and a field day in the Black Forest to determine runoff formation processes (May).

- The number of participants is limited to 25 students.

- GEO 475.1 Hydrological Modelling (VL)

- GEO 475.2 Exercice Hydrological Modelling

- GEO 475 is about hydrological models, oportunities and limitations of models and the implementation of smaller model calculations in programming languages such as Matlab and R.

Cold Region Hydrology

- The course provides an introduction to the hydrology of cold regions with focus on physical processes and observation methods.

- The course includes exercises and 2 one day field trips.

- Basic knowledge in physical geography (e.g. geo111, 121, 231), statistics and programming is expected.

- The course is held by Tobias Jonas (SLF) and includes lectures given by Manfred Stähli (WSL) and Jan Seibert
