The Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) are a collection of 17 global goals interacting with each other, which are designed to be the "blueprint to achieve a better and more sustainbale future for all". The 2030 Agenda for SDGs, is adopted by all United Nations Member States in 2015. The aim of 17 SDGs is to call for action by all countries, both developed and developing, in a global partnership, to fight against climate change, poverty, depreivations and imporve health, education and economic growth, reduce inequality and protect the oceans and the forests.

Peace and Justice

In our project, we will focus on the Goal 16 – Peace, Justice and Strong institutions. This goal aims to "promote peaceful and inclusive societies for sustainable development, provide access to justice for all and build effective, accountable and inclusive institutions at all levels" (United Nations Department of Economic and Social Affairs, 2021). The goal has 10 underlying targets, 5 of them will be illustrated in this project:

Significantly reduce all forms of violence and related death rates everywhere.

Promote the rule of law at the national and international levels and ensure equal access to justice for all.
16.4
By 2030, significantly reduce illicit financial and arms flows, strengthen the recovery and return of stolen assets and combat all forms of organized crime.
16.8
Broaden and strengthen the participation of developing countries in the institutions of global governance.
16.10
Ensure public access to information and protect fundamental freedoms, in accordance with national legislation and international agreements.
