Together with Dominik Brunner, Othmar Frey, Claudia Röösli, and Daniel OdermattAlexander Damm  hosted the session Earth Observation and Remote-Sensing during the SGM symposium. This session, organized by the Swiss Commission on Remote Sensing, was dedicated to discussing recent advances in remote sensing technology and method development, novel remote sensing applications across different Earth spheres, and to introduce the new ETH Swiss GeoLAB.

Our team member Pauline Enguehard gave a presentation on how she uses water frequency information derived from satellite altimetry and other satellite data products to quantify surface water dynamics in large delta regions at risk of groundwater contamination by arsenic. Her work is part of the SNSF-funded DeltAs project, which focuses on the Red River and Mekong deltas in Vietnam and combines remote sensing with geochemical and 3D hydrological modelling to understand patterns of arsenic groundwater contamination.
