Research Interests

My research interests lie at the inter-section of political economy, philosophy, economic geography, sociology and political ecology.

I am particularly interested in alternative economies, grassroots social movements and self-organization.

Ph.D Project - Alternative Economies and Commoning in Catalonia: Degrowth practices for Post-Capitalist worlds

In my PhD project, I investigated emerging forms of “commoning” and radical ecological citizenships in Catalonia, Spain, and examined responses to socio-environmental crises by analysing new forms of monetary/non-monetary exchange/cooperation and emerging practices of degrowth. I therefore explored how these self-organized social movements can provide contributions for theoretically conceptualising and practically implementing alternative forms of economic and political governance and resistance.

I am particularly insipred by pos-marxist, and feminist political economy debates, as well as ecological thought. Theories around the commons and commoning, materiality as well as Degrowth and Diverse Economies debates, are also central to this research.
