About me
Originally from Bologna, Italy, I earned my BSc in Geological Sciences from the University of Bologna (UniBo) in 2021. Driven by the applied side of geosciences, I moved to Zurich to pursue an MSc in Engineering Geology at ETH Zurich, graduating in 2024. During my Master’s, I developed a strong interest in landslide analysis, remote sensing, and planetary geology. This passion led to a 2024 summer internship at the Lunar and Planetary Institute (LPI) in Houston, where I collaborated with NASA on planetary research.
Now focusing my expertise back on Earth, I am a PhD student at the University of Zurich (UZH) within the Remote Sensing of Environmental Change group. My research focuses on developing innovative pipelines for generating Digital Elevation Models (DEMs) in alpine regions using Synthetic Aperture Radar (SAR). By employing unconventional methodologies, my work aims to unlock new possibilities for monitoring and modeling mass-wasting events in mountainous terrain.
