Global Burden of Disease(GBD)

The visualization page consists of two parts: firstly, a map containing four sub-maps : a map containing data on all diseases, a map based on infectious diseases, a map based on non-infectious diseases, and a map representing injuries. Secondly, a scatter plot showing the relationship between the burden of disease and urbanization. The Disability Adjusted Life Years (DALYs) per 100,000 people are used to measure the burden of disease in our map. One DALY equals one lost year of healthy life. The proportion of the population living in urban areas represents the urbanization rate.
