About Lidia
Lidia-Marta Amarandi-Netedu is currently enrolled as a PhD student in the Remote Sensing of Water Systems (RSWS) group in the Department of Geography at the University of Zurich. She received a BSc in Physics with a specialization in Applied Engineering Science from Alexandru Ioan Cuza University, Iasi, Romania, in 2019, and an MSc degree in Climate Sciences with special qualification in Atmospheric Science from the University of Bern, Switzerland, in 2021. Her master's thesis, conducted in collaboration with the Paul Scherrer Institute, focused on ultrafine primary particles and new particle formation events. She joined as a summer intern at the University of Lille in collaboration with PHOTONS/ AERONET in 2017, working on aerosol particle monitoring. In 2022, she joined the RSWS group as a research assistant. Her research interests include change detection in urban areas with synthetic aperture radar (SAR), with a focus on urban dynamics and their environmental processes.
What excites me most
What excites me most about working at RSWS is the real-world applicability while working with progressive technology, which keeps the work dynamic and forward-looking. On top of that, being surrounded by people with diverse backgrounds creates a constant learning environment, with everyone bringing a unique perspective that pushes me to grow.
