Decisions concerning strategies on global climate change must be founded on high-quality and long-term information. However, developing and emerging countries often lack the basis to systematically gather climate-relevant data.
The project CATCOS contributed to filling gaps in the global climate observing system.
The World Glacier Monitoring Service hosted at our Department was responsible for the glacier observations in the Andes and Central Asia. MeteoSchweiz has published a blog entry about the completed project.
