Early Holocene (Preboreal, ca. 9500 years BP). The glacier melted back to a small valley glacier and left morains and glaciofluvial deposits. The Late-Würmian moraines were degraded and covered with vegetation. At the position of the former end of glacier originate a small mountain lake (Lai da Vons). Main vegetation types: Open subalpine coniferous forests of Swiss stone pine, European larch and mountain pine. Ericaceae dwarf shrubs (Rhododendron spec./alpenrose, Vaccinium myrtillus/blueberry, etc.), Juniperus spec./juniper, Salix spec./willow) and other shrubs; subalpine and alpine meadows.
