Luis wins the Karl Kraus Young Talent Award 2025
We are proud to share that Luis Gentner has won the Karl Kraus Young Talent Award 2025 for his outstanding Master's thesis "Reconstructing Pre-GRACE Terrestrial Water Storage Anomalies Using Deep Learning".
The award was presented during the Dreiländertagung 2025 in Muttenz/Basel, the joint annual meeting of the photogrammetry, remote sensing, and geoinformation societies of Germany, Austria, and Switzerland. The prize honors exceptional Bachelor's and Master's theses in these fields.
Luis carried out his thesis at the Space Geodesy group at ETH Zurich during a project mobility, supervised by Prof. Benedikt Soja. The thesis was the last step to complete his MSc in Aerospace Engineering at the University of Stuttgart. We are very happy that he recently joined our Remote Sensing of Environmental Changes group at UZH and are excited to follow his future research.
