Motivation

Drones offer practical and versatile applications for answering diverse research questions and their use in the geosciences is becoming increasingly common. However, the handling as well as the post-processing of drone data is often challenging and the internal expertise at the Department of Geography (GIUZ), as well as the thematic exchange on the topic, is currently limited. For these reasons, we are planning a workshop at the GIUZ in spring 2022. The workshop should address the frequently occurring problem of data post-processing, as well as promote the exchange on the topic of handling, the legal situation when flying and current drone models at the institute.
