About David
David Small is a Senior researcher and teaching assistant in the Remote Sensing Laboratories. He holds a BASc in Systems Design Engineering from the University of Waterloo, Canada, as well as a MASc in Electrical Engineering from the University of British Columbia, Vancouver, Canada, and a PhD from the Dept. of Geography at the University of Zurich. He research deals with radar and its relationship to geographic reference systems, with applications in radar interferometry, geometric and radiometric terrain correction, and the development of new analysis ready data product types.
What excites me most
I am proud to be working at a great University, laying the foundation to ensure that higher level radar products are available worldwide. Soon, those investigating time-series of radar will be able to work directly with analysis-ready-data (ARD) products that have had the best available geometric and radiometric terrain corrections applied.
