Arcane Geopolitics

This forthcoming paper in Political Geography, co-authored by Benedikt Korf and Rory Rowan, discusses what is at stake for a critical geography in appropriating the reactionary thought of thinkers, such as Heidegger or Schmitt.

The authors argue that Heidegger and Schmitt were beholden by a gnostic (geo-) political theology that raises questions about how their work ought to be mobilized for critical emancipatory, progressive thought without bringing unwanted residues along with its reception.
