Precipitation radar in the Peruvian Andes

For a better understanding of the impact of rain or snow on the Peruvian glaciers and water resources, an international team has installed a precipitation radar in the highlands of Peru.
The radar measures different precipitation parameters like liquid / solid or the intensity of rainfall/snow. The new project AugaFuturo is an initiative of the Swiss National Science Foundation and the German Research Foundation.
