The ‘Innovations-Pool’ (InnoPool) was initiated to stimulate and support cross-disciplinary and cross-unit collaborations within the Department of Geography (GIUZ). Since its inception, the InnoPool has funded exploratory workshops, seed projects for larger research projects (reconnaissance projects), invitations of visiting fellows with cross-disciplinary expertise, proof-of-concept experiments, and more.
The InnoPool encourages applications by at least two scientists coming from at least two research units within GIUZ. Evaluation criteria are, besides cross-disciplinary appeal, originality and potential sustainability. The InnoPool has an overall annual funding of up to 20.000 CHF p.a. and there are two closing dates for applications (15th June and 30th November).
