geitonogamy
Fertilisation between different flowers of the same genetical individual.
 
geocarpy
The below-ground maturation of seeds which developed from above-ground flowers, such as in peanuts
 
geophyte
A plant with below ground storage rhizomes or bulbs and an apical bud buried deep below ground (geo-) during an adverse season
 
geothermal heat flux
The amount of heat moving steadily outward from the interior of the earth through a unit area in a unit of time
 
glacial
(a) Relating to the period of time during an ice age when glaciers advance because of colder temperatures

A large long lasting accumulation of snow and ice that develops on land. Most glaciers flow along topographic gradients because of their weight and gravity. Also defined as: A mass of snow and ice flowing mostly down gradient due to gravity

The recently released land area in front of a glacier
 
glacier surge
A rapid forward movement of the snout of a glacier. Also described as the rapid, wavelike downglacial ice movements which cause sudden advances of the ice margin
 
Gondwana
The palaeozoic land mass that unified today's Africa, India, Australia and South America.
