The meltwater of glaciers contributes almost as much to the rise in sea level as the two ice sheets of Antarctica and Greenland, however, only 1% of the world’s land ice is stored in glaciers. This results from an international study with the involvement of Frank Paul and Tobias Bolch published in "Science". UZH News release 16-05-2013
Tobias Bolch critizies an article which showed that glaciers in the Himalayas and Karakoram had lost little ice between 2003 and 2010, and that those on the Tibetan plateau itself were growing.
