Reference management programmes help to manage references and bibliographic data in your own academic work. They are especially useful when working on extensive material over a longer period.
Selected reference management programmes
Mendeley is a free reference management programme for Mac, Windows and Linux. It helps to organise, exchange and cite academic articles and PDF documents. It has a desktop programme as well as a web application. The latter offering many features of the desktop version in the web and allows you to share, exchange and synchronise your library.
Zotero is a free reference management programme, which allows you to collect, organise and export bibliographic sources. (Browser Plug-in for Firefox).
EndNote basic is a free, limeted version of EndNote.
