You need a library card in order to borrow items from the library. You can create a user account online or at the information desk.
Ordering, collecting and returning
Items can be ordered online or by filling in a call slip (available in the reading room), and can then be collected during the opening hours of the information desk. Items can be returned during the opening hours of the library via the book return slot underneath the information desk or by post. If you have a fine, the item has to be returned at the information desk.
The general lending period is 28 days. Exceptions: shelf mark ZS (journals: 14 days), shelf mark K (maps, for use in reading room only).
Reminder/recall: free of charge
1st demand: CHF 10.- per document
2nd demand: CHF 20.- per document
3rd demand: CHF 35.- per document
Items can be renewed online in your user account, by phone or by library staff at the information desk.
Items that are borrowed by another user can be reserved online.
Online resources (E-Books, databases, E-Journals)
Access to the online resources is according to IP range. This means that in order to access full text, the resource has to be licensed by your institution (see tab Availability in the catalogue) and you have to be within the respective IP range.
