Project aims
The project analyses the possibility of setting up a „Swiss Centre for Multi-Stakeholder Supply Chain Initiatives“ (MSI-centre). The project follows three main aims:

The project focuses on the following initiatives: Ethical Trade Inititative (UK), Initiatief Duurzame Handel (NL), „Runde Tisch Verhaltenskodizes“ in Deutschland, der „Runde Tisch“ vom BAFU, OFTCC von Helvetas
- Development of scenarios: How should a Swiss MSI-centre be organized to meet the needs of Swiss stakeholders?
- Evaluation of the scenarios: Which chances and limits are connected with the two scenarios? How do Swiss stakeholder evaluate these scenarios?
Research questions
- 1a: How to evaluate existing initiatives?1b: Can they be transferred to Switzerland?
- 2: Why did the DEZA not succeed in setting up a „ETI Switzerland“ earlier on (around 2003)? What can we learn from this attempt?
- 3: What do stakeholders in Switzerland expect from a Swiss MSI-centre?
- 4a: How should a Swiss MSI-centre be organized to generate the largest added value to all stakeholders? (generate 2 scenarios) 4b: How could/should such an MSI-centre be financed? 4c: How to evaluate the scenarios? (criteria are given)
