Master-Studies

This course series is also divided into compulsory, elective and optional courses. Some of the key compulsory courses which contain remote sensing aspects are the Master thesis (GEO 511), the cross-topic Master exam(GEO 512) as well as the excursions course (GEO 599).

The following specialization electives are offered by the Remote Sensing Laboratories:

The course GEO 803 is strongly recommended as a foundation for GEO 442 and GEO 443. This mini-course, entitled 'Solving Geospatial Problems using Matlab,' is offered towards the end of the summer holidays (late August / early September) and provides a solid foundation in one of today's most-used programming languages. The course includes partial repetition of course elements from GEO 371, while incorporating new knowledge and practical experience.

For the successful completion of an M.Sc. with a specialization in Remote Sensing, the courses GEO 441, GEO 442 and GEO 443 are all compulsory. The fourth and fifth electives are expected to complement & extend the Master thesis topic whenever possible.
For this reason, all courses from all Units in the Department of Geography are available as electives. The final selection of elective courses should be made together with the Master thesis supervisor.
